Well this job just keeps on going. I took Thursday and Friday off this week to hopefully crack through the bulk of this. I did a little more after work today to get a head start. The angle cut design just makes it take a really long time. And yes, that’s two more small sets of steps plus the actual deck to still do. The deck is odd shaped and is ~ 25 x 15 feet or so. It’s gonna be a long weekend.

The fun parts? It spools up super quick and actually exceeds the rev limiter.
The not-so-fun parts? It runs through gas like nobody's business, only runs on half-choke, and runs really, really hot.

Running too lean, maybe?
Ya be careful of a lean situation, I burned the piston on my YZ 125 back in the day...wondered why I was kicking my buddies ass with a KA 250, but not for long ☹ also burned up a leaf blower
A 2-stroke always runs best right before it seizes. My 750 triple is a 2-stroke and jetting a little fat for big elevation changes is a must.
More power takes more fuel.
Running on half choke suggests a lean condition.
Running really hot suggests a lean condition.
I've always had to re-jet 2 (and some 4) strokes when changing to a performance air cleaner (or deleted the air box) or a better exhaust system.
Probably a single jet; if it's not adjustable, it can be drilled bigger

Yup, exactly what happened but it was fun while it lasted. First time out after the rebuild I hit some water that was deeper than I thought, went over the bars almost ripping my sack off, ended up under water. Crawled onto shore with just the handlebar sticking out of the water and a hernia...sold the bike after that

Same with nitro RC engines. Most power when lean but also a ton of heat.
