I rode in 20F to the MSF ERC. Like to seriously froze. What made it worse was that i had installed grip heaters on my bike, but was missing some electrical doodad needed to hook them up. I had to stop every 10 minutes or so and warm my hands

For anyone nuts enough to ride when its that cold, heated gloves are a far better option than trying to heat through an insulation layer.

Bout ready to go get me a $300 scooter just for emergencies. Not sure if I can bring myself to riding a feet forward automatic transmission though. (I have actually seen a scooter with the riders legs hanging out to the side so it looks like hes riding a motorcycle. (also seen a 49cc moped with the tallest ape hangers ive ever seen, hopefully that was done as a joke)

I called the insurance company to see if there was any pressure they could bring from their end and got a lot of dont care it says itll be ready tomorrow. Like I was being impatient. Yeah, it said that yesterday and Friday and Wednesday and monday last week. And even before that. But the shop did say they are settled up with insurance and it is being reassembled. Today is 40 days.

if they were footing the bill for a rental car,i bet they would apply the pressure needed.

That coverage is an additional $8/mo which I'd gladly pay at this point but it wouldn't cover an existing claim. In fact - I thought I had it as it used to be standardish - but covid was an excuse for a lot of things to get "unbundled"

Not necessarily. I got rear ended on the highway several years ago. I was towing a large pop up camper and the guy hit me doing at least 30 mph faster than I was going. Camper had a huge boxed frame that had to be at least 1/8 inch thick 4x4 inch steel square and the impact bent it. Also bent the trailer hitch, bumper, and the frame on the truck. There was also some minor damage to one of the rear quarters. His insurance tried to pay out $270 for the hitch and nothing more. I dropped the truck off at a body shop and they had it for 5 weeks. All this time his company was paying for my rental. Turned out the reason the repairs took so long was his adjuster was arguing every step of the process with the body shop which slowed down the repairs getting finished. The truck was a Z71 and one of the arguments was the insurance company didn’t feel they should pay for the decal on the side that needed to be repainted.

Worst experience with an insurance company ever. Flo can f**k herself in hell if that’s how she deals with claims.

I’ll add that because I had two vehicles involved I had to deal with two adjusters on their end. The young lady who I worked with on the totaled camper was fine.

My sister is currently dealing with this same problem. She dropped her Acura off on the 3rd for minor damage to the tailgate. The most recent eta for her getting her car back is on the 30th and she doesn’t have rental coverage. (Flo strikes again).
