Both a and a for that one.FWIW, here's how the next gen one would look if I actually felt inclined to keep doing these:

That'd be a 125B size enclosure most likely. I can still get Gorva boxes in that size with the chameleon finish right now too.
I've been talking to a well known DIY pedal PCB vendor who does mostly near-clones about doing up one of my open source designs to keep things going after I'm out. He likes the idea and it might just happen by early next year. Hopefully my favored parts will start coming available again in about another year or so, but some are already listed as mid 2024 at best.
Heh. It's so totally not on point for what passes for my customer base it's hilarious. Even the ugliest earlier print jobs from before I found this vendor have sold very quickly and not a bite on this one - not that I've been pitching it much. No more cartoon art for me!Both a and a for that one.

Yep, I'm going with cartoon. The guy who took the photo did something original, not me. But it was a blast trying something new, as always. Some might call it cartoon art; others would call it an original design.
Hard to put a number on it, other than the price difference. Some might call it cartoon art; others would call it an original design.
So hand wired sounds better? If so how much?
I'm gonna buy a few bare boards from him to mess around with, it might save me quite a few hours of work while I see if this is something I really want to get into. But high voltage in stomp boxes kinda spooks me, honestly.Hard to put a number on it, other than the price difference.
But I'll say that the extra voltage in the HW version definitely opens it up.
The tone is more detailed and open.
To my ear, it sounds like it puts a microscope on your playing.
You hear everything with this sort of "3-D" quality.
No way those pedals with the big slots on the top would pass UL certification. Wal warts are good for getting by on the FCC side and some aspects of UL, but once you put your own switching supply inside it's the Wild West. Electro-Harmonix got their peepees whacked hard as did Fender. Small fish probably aren't worth going after unless it gets to ambulance chasing though. Dewd's doing some cool stuff and finding a little success, good on him! It's not the volts...
Amazing to me to see guys selling 800 watt power amps made in their basement to the general public without a UL label.
Understood that it would cost a fortune to do it correctly, but maybe as a kit form with out an easy to source power supply?
Does the wall wart offer the builder any liability protection?
Certainly doesn't bother the Sushi man; just sayin'.
He means voltage isn't what kills you, the current is.Then what is it?
