My Marco Bass singlecut with some new test knobs from my man Brad at Pick Knobs:

I reckon they'll darken up quite a bit when I get some finish on 'em. This is also my official test bass for filter preamps, at least until it isn't again.

Incoming, just closed the deal this afternoon. Should make a cool test bed for Jazz Bass pickups and various test preamp formats, and it looks like my buddy who built it is onboard with doing more of the assembly work than I was expecting. It’s 34 1/2” scale, same as my other two Marco Basses.

Just kidding; it's gorgeous.

Is that a wenge fretboard?
It is a really nice slab of wenge with maple binding. Marco just refuses to do "normal" with markers and such, it's not in his DNA at all. I love that but many don't.;)

The parts you can't see in the pic are insane BTW. The body is a maple/thin walnut/maple sandwich and the neck is a multilam with constrasting woods, but mot quite the classic hippie stripe sandwich format like Quatro sometimes uses.

Oh, and that guitar behind the bass is nuts, I may have to work a deal for it too eventually. It has three pickups and can do jazz box duty really well from what Marco tells me.

Cool. Can't wait to watch it come together.
Me too. I was treating this as a long term project to help me get into pickup winding but now it looks like it actually could be making noise within a month or two. I was thinking passive-only too for a new challenge and a different flavor, but Marco gave me a sideways look right quick when I brought that up yesterday. :devilish:

What color will you paint it....
Looks beautiful BTW and congrats
I was thinking that flat black Krylon never goes out of style, my man.

There actually was a very cool MM-ish two tone burst fretted four in the mix too, but since my fretless Marco is already like that I decided to take a flyer on this weirdo model instead.

That's the kinda Marco bass I would play.
