I often refer to Merlin as numb nuts.Love it.
Our pets have random-ass names.
Captain Jane Sparrow, or just Sparrow for short. She got a pirate name because we got her around when Pirate of the Caribbean 3 came out.
Montecore, or just Monte (deceased). Sparrow's buddy from the shelter, named after Siegfried and Roy's white tiger.
Stampford Ignatious Fishfolck McNally III, or just Stampy. Our Amazon red-foot tortoise. Named Stampy after Bart Simpson's elephant, Ignatious after the street I used to take to work, Fishfolck is a portmanteau of my wife's and my surnames, and McNally was the namesake of our local pub. But basically my cousin and I came up with the long name together to irritate my wife who didn't want Stampy to be short for anything.
Mathilda Tibia Fishfolck, or just Tibi. We hadn't come up with a name yet when we drove to the shelter to pick her up. But when we arrived, an employee informed us that they had broken Tibi's leg in the tub when giving her the required bath. So we named her Tibia after the fractured bone. We turned that into Mathilda so she would have a good resume name. But depending on the day, she's also Tiburon, Tiberius, Tibia, or Shithead (like the other day when she puked something unspeakable up in my back seat).
Mim was an outdoor cat. She disappeared right before Halloween last year. I miss her. She was one of those very vocal, very friendly cats tgat was always there to greet me when I got home.
Maud is a 10 year old Norwegian Forest cat that we got at one of the local pounds when she was 9 months old. She was born at the pound and had had 4 other failed adoption's. All failed before she was picked up so she lived at the pound for 9 months. She’s an all around good cat with none of the bad habits that cat haters use to justify not liking cats.
