Love that $250 OLP bass and that Mesa that I got from Boney. Thanks again Tim.
Oddly enough, the bass seemed plenty loud on stage but who knows what it really sounds like out front through a cell phone recorder.

The song is called University Blvd. and was written by a local guy named Eddie Angel who now plays with Los Straightjackets.

She does have some great pipes. We have two good lead singers in that band. The LS from the Squirrels is possibly going to come to sit in with us on nights when our regular male singer can't make it. He's also a great singer. Happy to have good vocals in both of those bands.

The big news is that the Squirrels are working in a second guitarist. She's working really hard to learn our repertoire, which is not the easiest repertoire to learn. I think she's doing a great job so far. I love the fullness of both guitars in there.

We're working toward having her join us at the festival show on June 18. I made some reference recordings on Thursday night just using a handheld Tascam DR-05; this was just recorded in the room with the recorder on my music stand (so the bass is a little hot).

You can hear a few flubs in here but given that this is the second rehearsal she's played this with us, it's not too shabby, and not all the flubs are hers My hopes are high. Our vocal blend also just keeps getting better and better!

I don't know if people ever see stuff in this thread but here is a song from last night. I played with two bands, the Squirrels and this one. This band was the headliner. My husband always manages to video my least challenging songs, but that's ok because at least I don't screw them up.


This band has a hard time getting together to rehearse but somehow we all pull it out of our butts when it's game time. Usually. Last night was good. This is kinda boring from a bass perspective until the end when it gets cooking a little.
