What made them "directional" in the first place? Something about the ground connection? I can't imagine anything they would do to the cable that wouldn't be considered a defect in a different context.
maybe "less resistance" in one direction than the other? Due to the way it's braided? Have no idea.

Kinda like when I said one side of my friends mom was an input, and the other an output... Well yeah if you're following the rules!

Usually the ground is only connected at the amp end. Some companies claim specially processed directional conductor voodoo.

This is turning into a long exchange about basic wiring.

Don't forget that most of your questions about things like how to wire between a jack and speaker are well documented either in YouTube or online with diagrams...they can be searched easily.

My suggestion about the manual was to help you understand what each connection (Speakon type or 1/4") on the back of the cab was intended to do. It may also have information about how to connect the cab with other speakers - IF the original wiring is restored.

You do you; but if you eliminate some functions of the cab, I suggest that you at least put tape over the non-functional connectors.

I admit that I do have a very strong "thing" about using equipment which has been hacked and no longer performs as it was designed to do. If I modify things, I document the mod and re-label the device so there is no possible confusion about connection or function. I keep things a long time (20-30 years) and I know darn well I won't remember the details of such a conversion/mod a decade later.

It was modified before me, so I dunno what to say haha. As Steve urkle would say "I didn't do it".

But I called the pawn shop I bought it from and explained its condition, they might give me a partial refund if I can prove the cab wasn't worth the price they sold it to me, which I can prove

Super easy... On the Jack, Sleeve is the ground, tip is the positive or signal.

On the plug, the shaft (teeheehe) is the ground, and the tip is the signal

Thanks man. So that's all I need? I am surprised it's so simple. Is there any special wire I need? Would this blue wire be good enough? Or should I order this 16 gauge wire I been eye balling on amazon

If you try to run the tweeter full range you'll soon smell something funny. Be sure to use a crossover.
I have been searching for information on how to wire a cross over in a bass cabinet and all I find is information on car stereos. What can you tell me bout this subject? What kind of crossover do I buy in order to do this 🤔 how do I wire it?
