The wife and I are trying to get out more now that things are slowly opening back up. We saw Primus and the Sword in the fall at an outdoor venue, and last night we took in a show at A.R.T., a theater in town often used to develop and refine shows on their way to Broadway.

The show was called Wild: a Musical Becoming, based on a book by the author of the Vagina Monologues and staring Idina Menzel.

The message is as heavy as the delivery, and it's hard not to feel a bit attacked. But the talent was unreal--even the young stars could hang with Menzel. And Menzel, wow, her voice needs a bigger room. They could have given everyone a mic but her, and the mix in the back where we sat would have been just right.

It was still a work in progress, with performers carrying scripts for scenes still in flux. That didn't take away from the experience, though.

I snapped a couple of not-so-great pictures at the very beginning and very end as clandestinely as I could.

Iron maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, Misfits, Kiss, the Who, Black Sabbath, Motorhead... B52's take the cake every time. What a show!
Slayer's Jeff Hanneman loved this band. He talked about cranking their music out of his car and those who recognized him had a shocking look on their face. They just dont add up.
