yeah but who holds it while you pull the trigger?

That's a good question. Even my brother, who earned his bodybuilding IFBB pro card earlier this year, only fired the 500 once before handing it back to me and saying F-THAT! I usually fire 20 or 30 rounds before I act like a Puzzy and go back to the wimpy 9mil and 40 cal.

This picture puts the caliber war question to rest.

Just because my same pistol frame will shot a 308. Here is a review of the 500.

"In fact, with the right ammunition loads, .500 Magnum compares favorably in energy to the 308. A typical .308 bullet will have a weight of 168 grains (.38 ounces) and deliver 2,650 foot pounds of energy. At 350 grains, a similar .500 Magnum round will weigh more than twice as much and deliver 2,491 foot pounds of energy"

And looky there TC has a 500 barrel. But I don't want to shoot that round in a crack open.

I've never, never been a fan of 9's. Spent my life, 45 years of shooting, hating them primarily... as well as most auto pistols in general. I've always used a 38 Special or 357. However, SIG has really changed my views on things.

As an engineer, I love guns for their mechanical marvel, as well as for thier artistic beauty. Theyre very inspirational for me. But I don't find either of those things in polymere guns, so I simply dont care for them much.

The SIG stuff comes direct from SIG, highly modified with features which were historically available only to pro shooters. Optic sights, extensive checkering, cocking serrations, chambered mag wells, modified triggers., decocking levers... The 226 Elite was designed by the Navy Seals and man does it show.

Its massive and it weighs a ton so theres zero recoil... Then the Emperor Scorpion 1911 is a good mix between modern features and old-skool tech. I get the sweet mojo of the cavalry in a gun which shoots like robocop. Last week I was picking off spent SG shells at 20 yards. That's usually unheard of with a 45 cal and 5" barrel.

My drummer has two Desert Eagles, so he's shooting those 500 from an auto!

I posted the Sig 226 Elite in the beginning of the thread. Here's the Emperer Scorpion. You can see most of the pro featers and modifications
