you should try the bull again.
Ha! Yeah, no. I like my vertebrae and associated parts arranged the way they are.
you should try the bull again.
race car. why chain the bumpers?A bit of progress. Car is pretty crusty but seems to be solid where it matters. I’ve gutted out the interior and removed the lights and trim. I started paint work on a day with not rain in the forecast and we got a 20 minute shower which messed it up. I also installed a very cheap wing for dorky reasons. Total prep is going to be under $250 including the price of the car.
I bc still need to pop out the windows, chain the bumpers to the frame, the doors shut but only a little more work and it’s ready to go.

just take it off. less weight. not as nice looking but functional. Is it so you don't leave debris on the track?
these are similar to the derby rules. didnt chain the bumpers though. but that was over 30 yrs ago.Rules dictate bumpers are chained to the frame. Doesn’t always keep them from coming off, but keeps them from flying off. Rules also dictate bumpers must be factory original, no push bars allowed. They don’t allow a lot of modifications to the cars. You can run a roll bar but it has to be inside the car. Doors are either chained or welded shut and an extra strap to hold the hood closed is recommended. Chaining the doors shut is way less work. You get black flagged if your hood pops open.
Similar and probably a holdover at this track. They used to run demo derbies there up until maybe 15 years ago. And I’m talking 100 cars at a time. They stopped it due to insurance reasons. Figure, most county fair derby’s are run in mud pits not on a paved 1/3 racetrack that has a paved figure 8 crossover in the infield. The speeds were just too high.these are similar to the derby rules. didnt chain the bumpers though. but that was over 30 yrs ago.
do you get to choose your number? honestly i think the car looks better.Realized no updates on the junker since the first weekend. I have the bumpers chained, a window net installed, and the numbering done. This weekend I’m going to seal the doors, pop out all the glass (except the windshield), and replace the coolant with water. Then it’s ready to roll on the 12th.

Yeh. For this class of car, you choose the number yourself. I agree with you. Car does look better as a stocker.do you get to choose your number? honestly i think the car looks better.

cool reason.Backstory on the number 84. I’m reusing the number I ran on the first car. That one was painted with Super Mario graphics. I chose 84 because I thought that’s what year the original game was released. Found out after that it was released in 1983 but had already painted and registered the car as #84.
