‘cuseme guys…but cant resist
some of the 6 side of things..
Xmas present to myself
I got a GibsonExplorer when they first came out In ‘76 ,they actually are very balanced and comfortable animals to play , I was in USAF way back then and was also the amp repair guy in a tiny Family owned Guitar Store In Jacksonville , Ark , and had a gas with the latest ant greatest ,used to jam with the instructor and learned alot, , but its neck got broken
When a faded dude fell on me from behind at jammin at a party in ‘88, damn try as I might i couldnot keep the neck fron cracking as my chest hit it with him on top o me, caused quite the ruckus, been runnin Strats, Les cust ,Es345s since the debacle so figured its long overdue 😁back in the saddle944E6361-BF98-41AE-A0CA-8DB7A9D6E17B.jpeg8DAFEEFD-FA3D-4F37-A445-A31838AA16E9.jpeg3EEB1C1C-1D3C-4F5B-8B8C-A73D9403DA0A.jpegB8604617-A737-490C-8426-0B96BC5597A3.jpeg

Sweet!

Here’s my late 80s Heritage H204-DD, I think the Roland GK pickup fits the aesthetic pretty well:

Purdywoods as well and it gels alltogether
Hows the pickupsoundz
🤩🎸
Yep. It’s actually Fender scale, and not very Les Paulish at all. Kind of PRS-ish, I’ll post a clip when I can get to my PC. Weirdo amp too, Fender only made them for like two years. I made the verb channel into pretty much a Vibrolux Reverb, I wouldn’t mind getting that amp back at some point.

Vibros are very kool as hell, just rite sizebut pricey nowadays i think, ive got the later redknob twin, never likedit As much as the early silverface twin, that was taken at a another ‘fun’party i played at ,when i took some guys for a a ‘ride’in the first ‘64 GTO i had when in high scool, amp was gone when i got back snd nobody knew-nuthin, It was a setup of course
The guys was faded who had the party and was passed out, live and learn, you guys ever use reverb.com much for older stuff?

A pre-broken headstock or neck is a Gibson "feature", not a problem. My Heritage had a classic green stick headstock fracture too, I guess they do repect their heritage!

I did amp repair for a number of stores on both the east and west coasts, including a nine store chain in Seattle ca. mid-80s, and also worked briefly in the Fender factory in Oregon when the pre-Hot Rod Blues Deluxe and Blues DeVille amps were just coming out. I've done many other tech jobs in the music biz and elsewhere too, but am in kind of a hobby/retired mode with all that stuff by now.

Cool, so then as ya know, fixing amps and also playing too , lol go well together! I had a lot o fun At that lil store, sounds like you were slot more busy and being at the Fender Factory I bey cha got some tales to tell from workin there , Im retired mode also now, but play old rock star in the music room, occasionaly revamp old antique radios and tinkrting on the so cool sounding rare mobile GTO spring-reverbs, which were only around about 5 years or so till FM-stereo arrived about ‘68 or so, then they were phased out, they were/are such a cool sound while goin down the road , i built a test bench to work on em easily, parts are getting scarce thou nowadaysC983A97C-62E0-430A-B19B-CA6CA48FB312.jpegF08C4E25-2400-4A7F-A0B2-744699856BAD.jpeg

I really dig this stuff, reminds me of Lalo Shifirin. What genre is this? Jazz Fusion?.

Hippie Shit, I believe. My influences are pretty scattered: Bartok, Ives, Zappa, Crimson, ECM music, movie soundtracks, etc. The three Circuits cuts were originally meant for a friend's extreme sports vid and came about while I was repairing his multitrack cassette deck, I had to test it somehow. I had pretty much zero experience with multitracking going in, FWIW. But we could replicate most of that vibe live with just three people, no problem.

very kool!😀complex and lofty; carries one right along into it
To me it's mostly about the drummer, I've been playing with him in various bands since the mid 90s. He worked his way through college at U Washington playing in the late 80s-early 90s Seattle scene.

It's wicked fun running a distorted tube amp in parallel to a stereo guitar synth rig with a rack sampler, and I also had a Roland VG-8 modeling system in the mix for a few years.
