I’m so tired of posts that claim expertise that are actually beginners and/or long winded demo’s that contain 95% talking (about nothing relevant) and bass parts that are pure masturbation.
Here’s one exception: No mindless stream of consciousness chat, or little useless riffs like some of the G&L videos.
No useless playing that would never be in a song (or solo work) without some sort of band mix.
Just solid playing with a backing track and different basses playing the same logical bass parts.Well done mate! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?ref=external&v=404479016843445

First, whack the driver, then, off the passengers. I want everyone in the car whacked off.

June 5, 2020 at 7:42 pm #123517That’s a good demo. I have a clip of me playing my L-5500 fretless solo so it’s not really a demo. Therefore, the l’ll refrain from sullying your thread. Well, with music, at least.

I think your videos more than qualify. Not to take away from JC’s suggested requirements, but I’d open it up a bit… you may get more videos.

June 6, 2020 at 12:04 pm #123599And sorry to sound so much like a prick about the rules. No need for pro playing and recording. Just not 30 minutes of chat about nothing followed by 1 minute of noodling was my suggestion. Band mix / drum machine is nice but we can all hear the music from just a solo bass. Can’t always get what you want? Lately I replace “always” with “never”. 🙂

June 6, 2020 at 12:36 pm #123608Ivan does some pretty legit, real world demos. Really like what he does. His video of the US JB is what led me to buy mine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8V8CuuBZ0gHow could I forget Ed? Great player and different styles. Only thought; has he ever said anything negative about anything he’s reviewed? His playing is certainly enough for a decision though.

I recall he gave up reviews for years because of the pressure to review gear he didn’t care for very much and couldn’t speak positively enough about.

No prob… last time I checked there’s not a whole lot of rules around here, AND you are still a prick.
Happy posting, breaux!

She’s very good, but it’s like listening to an old Victrola.

June 6, 2020 at 10:06 pm #123700Yep. It really sounds like there’s a cardboard box either over her amp or over my head.

June 6, 2020 at 10:35 pm #123703Maybe it’s the little GK practice amp that makes the bass sound like a cheap Casio keyboard? Good player though.
