Last night I was playing my Tribute JB2 vs. my Sandberg J through a super modified Showman amp and a EB B115M cabinet. JB 2 sounded better but US JB was at home. As I recall, they use the same pups in Tribby vs. US model??
In other earth shattering bass guitar news, no one has attempted to buy G&L…

Yeah, pups are the same. I believe pots/electronics are import.

January 8, 2021 at 7:58 pm #165922For the M/L-series tribute basses, the pickups are U.S. made.
Not sure if the same is true for the LB-100/JB/JB-2.

January 8, 2021 at 8:29 pm #165934I so wish they could get their shit together, on a regular basis.
I had an idea for a new(ish. Modified) bass.
Since MFDs are a thing now, add one to the Kiloton in the J neck pickup spot.
Hell, make a Wunkay with one in the bridge position.
For those that don’t necessarily want dual ‘buckers, but want a lil sumpin sumpin “up there” or “down there”

I think that would be awesome on a Kiloton.

January 9, 2021 at 4:53 pm #166122If an MFD is a hot pickup, would a J style be super noisy? I’m assuming it s single coil.

January 9, 2021 at 5:40 pm #166137Don’t think the him would be that bad.
I mean, I almost always run my Wunkays and Kilo in SC, and the hum is no worse than any other SC pickup I’ve experienced.

I saw somewhere that more info on the Pancho Tomaselli signature bass was forthcoming. Might find out more about the pups then.

Agreed. I don’t think that I’ve had my Kilo out of single coil, since the 2nd day that I had it. Prior to that, I had a mini love affair with parallel, but SC just rules school.
First, whack the driver, then, off the passengers. I want everyone in the car whacked off.

January 11, 2021 at 8:48 pm #166647Was the black finish without the crinkle used for just a short period of time?

I think so. It seems like it was a brief transition thing.

January 12, 2021 at 12:12 am #166680On a side note,
My black Wunkay and Kilo are setup so well, it’s hard to play anything else.
I did notice that the nut slot on the Kilo was a bit high.
Filed it slightly, and now it’s the tits.
Low, fast, and easy.
