That’s a “B” neck.
Same on my ’17 MIM P neck, then*. Is it designated only by nut width, or depth as well?
*Which is not being used, at the moment.
Width only. Depth has varied over time.

I’m thinking it’ll bottom out at about 6′.

There's something about this that's so black, it's like how much more black could this be?
And the answer is none. None more black. -Nigel Tufnel6 users thanked author for this post.

Yep. Kilo is still my fave, and after a pup change, I believe that the LB100 will tie it.

December 19, 2020 at 11:17 am #161417That’s a “B” neck.
“C” was the most common on P basses and is 1.75″ wide at the neck. Jazz necks are typically “A” width at 1.50″.
Kind of.
The standard neck from Fender up until about 1968 was 1 3/4″” wide and is called a C neck. My buddies 57″ (odd year in that they had a sharp V shaped back of the neck) was much closer to 1 5/8 and the finish looked original. Depending on who you read sometime in 67′-68′ they switched the standard to the B neck (1 5/8″) which is still the standard today.
ASAIK, the J was always 1 1/2″ wide or an “A” neck. I have a 73′ CAR P with a factory “A” neck. Is it the same as a J neck? Seems to be some questions about this although Leo would never have gone to the trouble of stocking 2 “A” size necks but he was gone by then.
I find the Pre CBS necks to be much shallower front to back than anything made after 1970. I wish I’d had a chance to play more late 60’s Fenders but I rarely see them available.

I would show you the neck on my Kilo, but it looks too much like a BBC

December 27, 2020 at 9:53 pm #163184Anybody have experience with Fender 55 J pickups? Looks like my JB takes stock Fender size pups and I’ve been liking the extra beef that Model J’s and the Sandberg pups have. I bought a bargain set of 55’s when they were being disco’d only because of stellar reviews on TB.
