December 10, 2020 at 8:12 pm #159822Oops, okay, this is Fender thread
Is that the uber rare 1955 owned by the tube guy? Fullerton red proto color or something. Pretty cool.
What sort of bassists are you guys? If someone gave that to you would you put it in a glass case inside a safety lock box under fort knox with a security cam on it for a 24/7 youtube feed, or would you play the hell out of it?
I would totally play it. I’ve never believed instruments belong in glass cases. They need to be played.
Am I the only one here who doesn't have a signature?

December 10, 2020 at 11:20 pm #159846Going back to the original white pg. Black was cool but so is contrast.
Pearl pg to match the blocks!

Plus, you rarely see a black Fender with a white PG. Good call.
I took the Duncans out of the Battle Bass last night, and put the Vmods in. Man, I love those pups. Nice “overall package” as well… The vmods came on a brass ground plate, with the pups already mounted on the plate, so no wiring, foam, or springs. It was modular. They have Vmod 2 pups now, so I think that’ll be what I put in the LB100.
First, whack the driver, then, off the passengers. I want everyone in the car whacked off.

I’d sell it. For someone giving it to me, that’s a helluva good ROI.

December 11, 2020 at 1:40 pm #159938I’d sell it and buy a Jazz with an ebony board.
Lol! Zing!

Paradoxically I have it very much because it does not have that. So if it did, I wouldn’t have it.

I know people love the pearloids guards and I respect that. But Imma drop this right here. I do not like pearloid guards. Or pastel colors. 😆

Yes thank you I am going for the unique combo I once saw on a Squire. The black with a white guard. With rosewood.

December 15, 2020 at 8:51 pm #160667December 15, 2020 at 8:55 pm #160671That’s a “B” neck.
“C” was the most common on P basses and is 1.75″ wide at the neck. Jazz necks are typically “A” width at 1.50″.

Did any of the 70s P basses come with an A neck?

December 16, 2020 at 10:49 am #160792So my 78 Precision has a 1 5/8″ neck. I’ve always wondered the proper classification of this neck and if it is an uncommon width?
I think B necks are fairly common from that time. Nice bass!!

I never realized that profile was that old, but both of my P’s have it. And although I prefer the 1.75, the 1.625 is just right.

Same on my ’17 MIM P neck, then*. Is it designated only by nut width, or depth as well?
*Which is not being used, at the moment.
