You guys make some amazing food.  My little mundane dinner tonight is spaghetti sauce with lamb.  I made this accidentally sometime around 1982 when I grabbed the wrong meat from the freezer at a friend’s house.  We had company that night and everyone raved it was the best spaghetti they ever had.  When I went to grab meat for the next evening, I noticed the lamb that had been in there the day before was gone.  So, yeah, that’s why it was good.

It just looks like red sauce but here is a picture anyway.

It has roasted red peppers in it.  Actually, they’re sauteed.

In the culinary lexicon we call that ‘sautéed peppers’.

I know, but I was too lazy to look up how to type the é.  Now that you’ve done it for me, I can copy and paste it.  Or is that pasté?

Dinner tonight was salmon cakes with a salad that Rick made.  I made the salmon cakes the same way I’d make crab cakes, if I could get blue crab meat here.  It’s too expensive though.  One of these days I’ll splurge on it and do it right.  May experiment with some Dungeness first, just to make sure I don’t waste the blue when I get it, since it’s been forever since I made crab cakes.

Anyway, here’s the photo of tonight’s salmon cakes.  I ended up scraping off most of the sauce because the cakes were so good without it.

Sorry, I took a bite before I remembered to take a picture.

Looks really interesting. How would you describe the flavor? What’s the ABV?

Damn Hef, don’t go out of your way to give us any clue as to the flavors inside that magic elixir you enjoyed.
