Maybe make out of deer antler; only kid on the block
i got a knurling tool on the way, i've never machined antler. i got one cap waiting to be finished.
i did think about a real arrow head mounted to the cap. i think smooth aluminum will be fine.

the t bolts are like 40.00. i can make them for 15.00. the aluminum will last longer too.
these are just trick stuff. small projects.

this 57 already is the only kid on the block. i do like your ideas. good news, the winch drive engine stand
works. it wont handle a fully assembled pontiac though. but remove the iron heads and intake and it works
good.

a gear reduction set up would do better.

I have a box full of old buttons & contact blocks.
i found a switch that looks the same. the old one melted some plastic at the contacts. i pulled the piece it has six brass contacts kinda looks like points from an old car. the new switch is 14.00 free shipping. if it wont fit i may change to a drum style switch. it would be cool if i had reverse. i will need to see if its possible though.

i really appreciate your help. i may need it later. the cold has returned,a few flurries were spotted this morning.
might be a while before i get back to it. thanks very cool andy.

finished the oil caps today. the knurling tool works good. i will see if i can get a pic that looks ok.
putting a knurl on something is tricky to get the pattern to match. if you have ever tried.
its like hitting the lottery when it turns out correct. these are good but not great.

you need a ridged setup for things to repeat,i don't. i haven't decided to leave it machined or polish it to a mirror.

i guess it depends if i get snow again.

It helps to hold your right hand under the camera like a cradle, and use the left hand to adjust the lens. But I've found it gets harder with age. Adding the breath control used in target shooting also helps.

I do keep a table top tripod in my camera bag, but seldom use it.

thanks for the tip. didn't think of it as shooting. im better at shooting a gun than taking pics. hitting the target is easier than worrying how it looks. sunlight may be better than led lighting. i will keep testing.
