But yeah, not cheap. I got a decent deal through Reverb. It was local pickup only, 1 hour away. So I submitted a low-ball offer and said I could pay full price if he happened to be in my area. Turns out he was recording two towns over the next day.

So now I have a sweet keyboard to travel with over the holidays.

I'll probably "make do" with my nektar. It's a decent 49 key (after 40 years I forgot that aftertouch sounds cool but literally nothing uses it, and I got a bee in my bonnet because I wanted to do horns. Some day I might grab one of those electronic travel saxes and use it to program all wind instruments). Bonus room reorg is kinda stuck waiting on my workshop but I did figure out I can replace my old desk with a credenza at the window sized to hold about four bass/guitar cases and a double as a standing height keyboard stand. So yay - maybe this year I'll have keys out where I can actually use them.

i really wish someone made a 49 key waterfall tho. Like enough that the idea taunts me. I'm have terminal diynoma meaning I'm going to die with unfinished projects.

I actually am trying to thin some down right now and figure out what needs to get finished and whats never going to be finished

I took an eBay sm57 once to find out if it was legit.

Turns out it WAS. Past tense.

If you bought it used, it could be OK. If new, that's too little for a genuine mic.

A quick check does indicate there are fakes being sold.
It was sold as brand new. Even used, those Shure 55's sell for well over $100 on Reverb and such.

I kinda wanna "relic" it and make it abundantly clear that this is absolutely NOT a real Shure.

Haven't procured a XLR cable yet, but that's on my list for this weekend. I've got a stereo preamp with an XLR in that I can probably jimmy rig to output into a guitar amp (or even possibly my home stereo) to test it out. The stereo option would actually be kinda cool because then we could set up karaoke at home...
Update: cable procured
