Got robbed last night!

Tonight is like the third bitter cold night this winter and in about a week. Took the trash out tonight, flipped the lights on and two ginger lightning bolts shot to the door.

Ghost is pretty regular, I see Taz about every other week. Will eat the treats i give him, i can occasionally sneak a pet but still a lot more standoffish than Ghost, but tonight even Taz was like "Let us in its farginKald out here!!!".They were both trying to shoot past me into the house.


I took the soiled blankets (stupid possum) out of the shelter back when I took the entryway turns out but think I may try to get them some straw. They do have straw next door and heated beds on the neighbors porch, which they don't really use either. Really wish they'd avail themselves of the handouts given. Maybe straw plus shelter plus heated bed would do the trick.

Happy to report that with the addition of straw, the shelter is finally being used for its intended purpose. Yay. He's been in it all afternoon staying out of the cold.

It was 10F last night - and the dumbass ferals didn't bother to take advantage of the shelter until morning. I give em loads of churu when its super cold - full bellies help keep warm. Maybe they'll appreciate it now - it's a good 20F warmer than outside and that's the air temp - the mat is where the heat is.
