Looks like a super cool upgrade for an M4 type rifle. Gonna start saving my pennies. :p

They had a promotion going where you could order one and have it made with the serial number you provided. I'd been wanting a lever gun for awhile, and that was enough to make me bite.
theres a pretty nice gun shop about an hr away. they have a great selection. i went there to see the henry up close.
i liked the weight and feel of the 44. i wanted the .357 to match my pistol but it looked small to me. like a bb gun.
the 44 had a hex barrel and was normal size. glad i didnt just order one.

i like revolvers and lever rifles. mechanical in nature. western style.

Do you/ can you shoot on your land? If so, I'd love to see the video! Ive always been intrigued by rifles that take pistol ammo!

I bought a gun cabinet at a thrift shop (crossover content from Thrift Store Finds, lol).

It's got a glass door. Would it be wise to maybe take the glass out and replace it with Plexiglass or some sort of Lexan type material?

Also what about locks? It's got a metal loop thingy on there that I can just throw a padlock on, but it's wood and wouldn't be too hard to add a cabinet lock on there either.

I know it's not perfect, but it's better than just having boomsticks in the closet...plus I can throw a little ol' dehumidifier in there.

Unless you have kids beating about, the glass should be fine. Adding a padlock is not even enough to inconvenience an impatient thief, much less a persistent one....but again, if you have kids it's a good idea. The other good idea with kids is training them in safety and safe firearms handling and marksmanship very, very early. If you want to prevent theft ,firearms need to either be hidden or in a decent gun safe. Use gun safes do show up on Facebook and Craigslist.

locks are for honest people. something simple will work. a thief would have a crow bar. hopefully a kid would not.

I'm not actually worried about theft or a break in - if I was, I'd be putting more emphasis on saving up for a safe...although, the cabinet is in rough shape and will need some work, so maybe there's some opportunity to bolster things a little. I'm just contemplating a little on making things less convenient for a smash-n-grab type situation by adding a lock and a bit of shatter resistant glass.

a bar slid into the side then locked would look good. make loops for the bar to go thru.
