And he wouldn't be wrong.
I've seen guys trash pots with too much of the wrong stuff.
Once you clean out the lubricant from the factory, your screwed.
And make sure you use a 200 watt iron like you would use for copper gutters & roofs...
Having a pair of clip leads makes this troubleshooting take a couple minutes with a meter.
its probably dielectric grease. this makes sense.

I built an amp back in the 90's (hey it's vintage now) - and I star grounded the heck out of it. Literally every ground had its own wire. I had like 4ft of wire radiating out from the ground lug. And it scoffed at everything I had. Luckily an older friend had one of those stained glass window irons. Took care of it.. Today I'd be a little smarter about what's on the ground, how much current it has, and what it can be shared with. (subsequent stages being an ideal candidate for ride sharing since the noise they inject on the line is inverted).

I have that. It’s great. It not as great as getting advice from Andy, Timmy5, Boney, Quattrocordes, LSD, Poncho, Ded, Ficelles, JimC, theothersemioldfart, and everyone else here. You guys are the ones who make me want to do this.

Thank you.

And oh yeah. Why is it that libraries only have glitzy pop culture bios for a music section. A shelf of Hal Leonard titles might be nice.

Meanwhile working on convincing the kid to check out more than one or two books at a time. The boy reads about 2" book spine inches worth of books a day. You'll have Two Towers read before bedtime, grab 3 or 4

That's a real reader! I'm really glad that both of our daughters managed to pick up the habit of reading. They're not as consistent as my wfie and I are, but they do OK. It's a wonderful habit.

My dad always had a book in his pocket and read by the tub full. After he passed away I was on vacation and saw this woman sitting on a bench reading a book she pulled out of her pocket. It was really weird, she wasn't even the same ethnicity as dad but her mannerisms and the book kinda jarred me how much it reminded me of dad... and the fact that we messed up when we didn't bury him with a book in his pocket.
