One of the lawyers here took Jiffy Lube to court and has a trial tomorrow.

They installed an oil filter without a gasket on his '16 Wrangler, which promptly dried out and exploded on the highway.

Jiffy Lube put in a junkyard engine, tranny, and clutch. The "new" engine leaks oil and the clutch is making a crazy racket because of a bad part.

Jiffy Lube wanted him to sign a release to fix it (again), but he refused, so BOOM, small-claims court.

i worked at a midas for a short time. a friend was running it and asked me if i would help out. the guy i replaced
didn't put a filter on and did not fill with oil. i didn't know i was replacing anybody and the guy i replaced didn't either.
i showed up and he was fired. hell i was talking to the guy. i told him i was the new guy. they called him in the office and when he came out he was not happy. later my friend told me it was not the first time it happened.

i think midas had to buy those cars.

I've told the story before, but back in college my buddy (not the one I went snowboarding with yesterday, but went with him last time) worked for Pep Boys and closed up and cleared a brand-new Mustang in for its first oil change. The oil light went on down the road and the owner parked immediately, so no damage, but he was pissed. Pep Boys fired my buddy on the spot, then hired him back a week later.

i got a note one day saying do i want to sell. i just had replaced the quarter panel. i was in the process of painting the firebird. i kept the note and put it on the boss's sons 88 ranger. he was excited someone wanted it. i let him think it until quitting time. we did things like this back and forth.

My wife crumpled the door of our first Subaru, but it was still structurally solid so we never fixed it. The only time I was ever tempted to have it repaired was so that randos at gas stations would stop offering to fix it for $100 (although they always offered to do it for my wife for free).
