That’s what I thought too. I can’t imagine he’s getting offers north of $90k on that thing. It would cost well into the six figures to restore that thing.
And that's if the bird cage is okay. If that's shot, then it's just not worth it, unless you're a millionaire collector.

It's like Im always saying... as the people who bought these new start dying off, they're popularity, and likewise "value", diminishes rapidly.

Ten years ago, there were millions of people who knew why a 63 Vette was special.

Now, even knowing 100 car collector experts, I might know two who know.

I have access to a 67 Vette convertible, on a C5 chassis with the LS and manual trans. I was built ten years ago and the owner died the same week. It's been in the same garage ever since.

Been thinking about buying it.

prices are all over the place. i cant tell whats fair or just crazy. not that i could buy it.
Just look at dune buggies, deuce coups, and t-buckets. They used to be SOOOOO popular. Now no one wants them. No one knows what they are, nor do they care.

Modern collectors want turn-key-ease, bluetooth, 1000 watt systems, and big power.

This would be intriguing to me. I’m not as nose up to the idea of running a modern driveline under a classic car as some in the hobby are.

rethinking the stroker? as i circle like a buzzard. kidding i cant afford it. there are sites to show how to thin factory harnesses if i can do it anybody can. the 5.3 is basically a three wire hook up now. many options to be had. i still prefer old ponchos but hey money talks and fun is more fun when its cheap.

Not rethinking what I have unless the engine blows again. I would consider adding a new car to the fleet or an old car with a modern driveline though. I have to make room before either of those things happen. Or maybe talk wifey into a smaller house with a larger garage?

the easiest LS swap is the square body chevy trucks. if you decide to i will point you to some cheap mods. ive been studying for a while. lots of easy factory stuff that fits.
