Straight from NAMM: Ernie Ball has got some cool colors for 2024 and will have a custom shop with lots of finishes, neck shapes, and probably pickups in the spring. Looks like a 4 string with 1 pup (Stingray Special) will be about $2,700

Taking a break from the web, but I have a question for the brain trust that is @4strings .
I bought a Tribute JB neck a while back. Then, without remembering the different neck heel shape, I bought a Tribute JB2 body.
Is it possible to change the shape of the neck heel or neck pocket to make it work?

Belt or spindle sander is your friend.
I'd be more worried about getting the scale length perfect for great intonation.

Short answer - not easily.
You could reshape the heel of the neck to match the shape of the pocket, but it'll end up too small. As you remove material the heel will move more towards the bridge and you'll have gaps along the sides of the neck pocket and at the radiused corners. You could probably play with the bridge to accommodate intonation issues but you'll end up with those unsightly gaps in the neck pocket.

Once you get the scale length correct, you could fill the gaps with super glue/ baking soda, sand flush, and try to color match with a fine tip brush.

You could make a pickguard to cover that situation up.

I would fill the gap or do a PG. Wouldnt mess with the neck, because setup issues would come with it.

I just got a notification from Sweetwater that the 2024 Stingray basses are now available.
Does $2,900 seem a bit steep to you for a production built bass?
My dealer said some finishes will be more expensive than the solid colors.
