I've been arguing with my brother about breakdancing as an event. I love it for the creativity. Established events become so codified that to the lay person nothing really stands out. But there was a ton of variety in the dancing I saw, because these guys are just doing what they do rather than having spent their lives working towards the maximum point routine in a mature sport.
But then there was "Raygun." Lol. She's a college professor in Australia with a PhD in cultural studies who won some lower-level comps a few years back. You might have seen her:
